Mobile Games Then and Now

Gaming technology has advanced ever so much since the Magnavox Odessey system and Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney’s Atari, the duo designed and manufactured the first ever coin-operated gaming system that was known as Computer Space Arcade Machine. Back at the beginning of the nineteen seventies video gaming and the few games available were most commonly available as novelties among game programmers and home entertainment luxury. Except for the Computer Space Arcade Machine, which was the worlds first taste of a paid digital arcade game at the start of the commercial video game industry.

Since the introduction of these games, there has been an uncountable number of advances in digital gaming. In the early eighties, we caught the wave of a resurgence of pay for play entertainment as more and more coin-operated arcade games hit the market. The first pay to play arcade games were monstrous cabinets with minimal electronics and television tube screens that projected 8-bit interactive gaming thru the use of joysticks, wheel and button controllers to manipulate rudimentary shapes and characters thru the levels of the games.

These games were, for the most part, simple two-dimensional graphics and most were pretty slow as the processor technology was just 8bit. Games like Pacman, Centipede, and Donkey Kong to name a few were very popular through the 1980s and game design companies like Atari, Capcom, and Nintendo enjoyed much success in arcade markets. In the 1990s there was again a resurgence and advancement in commercial video gaming with the design and advancement of the computer processor to design more visually appealing video games. With the addition of 3-dimensional graphics and 16bit processors, gamers could now have a more visually realistic and exciting experience and well as much faster gameplay. These technological advancements took place in commercial video game cabinets as well as the home gaming industry.

starting in the mid-1990s thru the turn of the century video games advanced even more as game makers once again improved products by using 32-bit processors and graphics. These advances let players become more enthralled and intermingled as they felt a more personal connection with game characters. Sports games and first-person player games became a core entertainment factor in most households across America and the world.

At the beginning of this millennium video games took an even more personalized roll with the growing popularity of wireless digital communication devices and the internet. Incorporating 64 to 128 bit or better, when combined with the internet, allows people to have access to hundreds of thousands of games. Free video game and gambling apps that incorporate Mobile Game Payment Software Solutions that let gamers upgrade, purchase different characters and game peripherals and currencies.

And these days players control games in various ways, not only do players have the option to control games using wireless game controllers but we also can control games thru direct contact with devices using touch screen technology or enter the video game in a sense using virtual reality interfaces. Video gaming has never been more enjoyable, not to mention addictive.
